Inspirational moments often begin at home, but travelling perhaps makes you more open to the sights and sounds around you. Working hard doing something you are passionate about gives great rewards and down time is precious. In my case travelling is a chance to greedily gobble up inspiring vistas, history and culture. Particularly in France, the history and gorgeous atmospheric light is laid out like a platter and seeps into your soul. Travelling can create a space in your imagination which often in my case unconsciously feeds into my work. Sometimes this happens at a later date or often solidifies ideas that have been floating around. I wanted to share a few images from a recent summer trip to France and I'll be honest I was a little jaded at the beginning of the trip that it wouldn't live up to my expectations. Partly because I was nervous about driving on the other side of the road! However, I was delighted and not a little bit humbled by the abundance of sights, food and culture in the small area I visited in the South of France. The following images I've chosen evoke a visceral connection or gave me a moment of clarity, others were simply beautiful!
